What is a Skintag? A skin tag is a small, soft benign growth on the surface of the skin. These growths are usually flesh coloured or slightly darker and are attached to the surface of the skin by a thin stalk. Skin tags are a common occurrence and are generally harmless varying in size from a few millimiters to centimetres. Generally skin tags present on the torso or neck where skin comes into regular abrasive contact from clothing or other skin areas.
Why do you get Skin Tags? Factors such as genetics, age, weight and hormonal changes may contribute to their formation however they are not contagious or associated with serious health risks.
